Weekend Writing: Reviewing Lauren Lianne's "The Wait Will Not Be Wasted"

"God doesn't just make us wait for waiting's sake. He has a very clear and specific purpose in mind." - Lauren Lianne, "The Wait Will Not Be Wasted"

It's not easy being single. You see your friends falling in love, getting married, and beginning new chapters of their lives. You want that for yourself, but you just haven't found "the one." It can be heartbreaking at times--to always be the "single one" in your group of friends. You feel like you're not accomplished enough and you wonder what you're doing wrong.

I understand this feeling and so does Lauren Lianne, author and speaker based in Nashville, TN. That's why she has released a new Christian nonfiction self-help book, The Wait Will Not Be Wasted: Learning to Trust God's Plan for Your Season of Singleness

This book is special. So many self-help/nonfiction books are written after someone went through the experiences. The author writes, "Everything will be okay because I'm now married and here's what I learned when I was single. But now my life is great and I'll tell you what I did to get to this point." Those books don't work because we can't exactly relate to those writers. We want to read about being single from someone who is in the same boat as us.

That's Lauren Lianne. We can relate to her because she's still single. We know her struggles and even though she doesn't know us (her readers) personally, she also knows our struggles because she is right there for us. Lauren's voice is real.

In her book, Lauren helps readers understand that it's okay to wait because that is exactly what she has had to tell herself, as well. It's okay to be scared while you're waiting. It's also okay to be sad that you have to wait longer than others. Lauren knows. She knows exactly how you feel and her heart is breaking along with yours.

Lauren's book is a tool to make us feel like we're not alone on this journey. Her writing reminds us what we can do while we wait. Every chapter ends with questions to consider (or write down in a journal), a prayer to recite to God, and any additional thoughts to reflect on as you move forward on your journey. What can you do during this waiting period? How can you grow closer to God and understand His plans for you?

"When we look back after waiting, we realize we are stronger and more equipped to deal with whatever is coming next. Now that's a good Father." - Lauren Lianne

While reading the book, we will realize God's love makes us stronger and we never, ever, ever have to wait for Him. He is constant and loves us with a love we can't even understand. God is there for us because He is such a good Father. He will wipe our tears and He will certainly make the wait worthwhile. Be patient. God is asking you to invite Him into your heart. Hand over your trust to Him. Hand over those insecurities and disbelief. Hand those over. God will help lift the weight.

That is what I have recently learned from Lauren's book, and the message speaks volumes to me. I'm sure it could speak to you, as well.

Lauren's book is special. I was fortunate to be a part of Lauren's book launch group. I helped promote the book on my social media profiles and it was a wonderful experience! It was great to learn more about Lauren's mission and her passion.

This is expressed openly in her book. Lauren shows us that God loves you and He is not giving up on you. He knows exactly what you need. He knows what's best for you.

Have trust in Him. Once you start praying about this and believing in this, the waiting will get a little easier. The waiting won't be wasted--at all! There's plenty more to read in Lauren's book--now available for you to read!

You won't be wasting any time reading this book. See what I did there?
