Inspire Spontaneous Adventures

"Spontaneity is the best kind of adventure."

Think about this quote for a quick second. Which do you prefer? A detailed, planned adventure, or one that is filled with spontaneity? In this blog post, I'm going to hopefully persuade you to consider the latter option. Being spontaneous is what keeps life interesting.

Hiker and traveler Chris McCandless said, "The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun."

Be open-minded. Whether you're traveling across the globe or simply traveling 20 minutes away from home, always have an open mind about everything, even if it seems odd. Be willing to see new things in a different way. Allow yourself to experience a new perspective you least expected. It's through this process where you learn something new. As my grandfather (who lived to be 102 years old) always said, "You never stop learning."

Say "yes." I'm a hesitant person by human nature. I always consider every option. I ask: Is this the right thing to do? What if this happens? What if it doesn't work out the way I want? What if it leads to a disaster? What if, what if, what if...

Stop saying "what if." Instead, learn to consider "yes" as your first reaction. Don't be cynical. Stephen Colbert said, "Saying 'yes' begins things. Saying 'yes' is how things grow. Saying 'yes' leads to knowledge. So, for as long as you have the strength to, say 'yes.'"

You never know if something will work until you try. If you say "no," you're allowing fear to win every battle. By letting fear win, you will never know what could have been.

Feel alive. Being spontaneous makes us feel alive. We let loose--free ourselves from our previous constraints. If you want to travel to Alaska, save up your money and travel. See new places, have new adventures, and chase every sunset. We only have one life to live, so let's make the most of this one. Fight for your adventures; they'll give you true joy in life.

If I ever have spontaneous adventures, I'll be sure to tell you all about them on the blog. Good luck chasing your spontaneous adventures and goals. You deserve them and so much more.
