Inspire Seizing the Moment

Sometimes, life changes when you least expect it. Maybe a job opportunity fell through, or you weren't accepted into a program. Maybe you break up with your significant other, experience severe loss, or you're forced to move to a new city. Change is scary, but you can still seize the moment.

Seize the moment.

So many of us are too scared to try new things. Fear causes us to prefer consistency, security and practicality. We're too afraid of what could happen that we choose to ignore a new opportunity. We don't seize the moment. We play it safe.

But this is a big problem. When we make choices from a place of fear, we're letting the fear run our lives. We often end up living lives we aren't happy about. We're in places we don't want to be in, but we're too scared to try something different. We want a scripted plan, so when something out-of-the-ordinary interrupts our lives, we don't know what to do.

When we're seizing the moment, living life fully, anything can happen. If we seize the moment, we're not afraid of anything. We chase our dreams. We apply for jobs, even if we don't meet all ten of the job requirements. We try something new. We prove to others that we can accomplish anything.

But most importantly, by seizing the moment, we don't allow anyone to take our power. Alice Walker once said, "The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any." By seizing the moment and choosing to live life fully, you're owning your beautiful power. You won't allow fear to control your life.

You seize the moment and wait for the results. And that, my friends, is something we should all strive for in our lives.

Seize the moment.
