Inspire Love

Today is Valentine's Day, which I thought would be appropriate to be the focus for today's blog post. You don't need to be in a relationship to celebrate the day of love. You can show your love for your family, friends, and even yourself. Love is more than an emotion and feeling between two sweethearts. You can love your friends, which I definitely do. And, you should definitely remember to love yourself.

After all, Lucille Ball once said, "Love yourself first and everything falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world."

So, remember to take a few moments out of your day and remind yourself why you're awesome. You are beautiful, intelligent, kind and an amazing person. You're doing the best you can. You are loved by others and they know you love them in return.

Social media has almost turned Valentine's Day into a day where you have to prove yourself to others that you are in the best relationship by making the perfect Instagram post. Do you remember in elementary school when all you had to do was pick out the cutest box set of valentines to deliver to everyone in your class? That's all you had to do. You didn't have to worry about what others thought or creating a picture with the most appropriate filter to receive the most likes on social media.

All you had to do back then was keep things simple. So, why has that changed? I encourage you many times on this blog to keep life simple, and that even includes on days of celebration. Unplug yourself from the world for a while. Spend the day with your significant other, friend, family, or even a movie and pizza night by yourself (because you deserve it), and that will be more rewarding than any social media post.

Inspire love in a simple way, and it will become a huge way to showcase how much you love and appreciate someone. After all, it's the little things that mean the most. And you'll feel the love, too. I promise.

Happy Valentine's Day to all of my followers out there. I love you all!
